Abstract Painting ~ St. Lawrence College, Kingston Campus - Room 44060 Get rid of the rules! Free yourself of the confines of representation! Get down and dirty and push some paint around! Abstract painting can be one of the most expressive ways of painting, but it can also be on of the most daunting. The only way to learn how to paint satisfying abstract paintings is to do a lot of experimentation. You will do several paintings each class as you decide what works for you.Whether you want to become an abstract painter or use abstract techniques within representational painting, this course will help you to make your work more dynamic with more of a personal artistic statement. You will be introduced to abstract paint techniques for achieving evocative effects, and develop a personal vocabulary of marks and colour through a series of focused projects. Instructor: B.
